BSNL just unveiled India’s first official internet telephony service allows users to dial any telephone number in India through its mobile app, starting from July 25 onwards.
This is one of the new ways of making telephone calls and the Wings app from BSNL will allow customers to make unlimited calls by paying annual fee of Rs 1,099. This service enables users to put landline on the mobile instrument to make it mobile, and use all the facility of mobile handset like address book, conference call etc.
Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said after inaugurating the service just told press,
“In present competitive environment, increase in market share by BSNL is laudable. I congratulate BSNL management for internet telephony which will enable consumers to make call without SIM,”
As you are already aware VoIP users of apps like WhatsApp & Facebook Messenger could make video and voice calls within the same mobile apps installed on their devices, but not to a mobile or landline. Here come the Wings from BSNL.
Wings will be available to download from July 15 onwards and service will get started exactly on July 25th as reported before. Other telecom operators are worried about BSNL’s move to internet telephony sector.
